TrueNorth Church in North Augusta, SC required acoustic panels to be installed in one of their children’s areas that was highly reverberant and easily excited due to the polished concrete floor and low ceiling height. Their desire was to “calm” the room and make communication easier by lowering the RT factor (Reverberation Time). Gripple’s Angel Helix hangers excelled in a few ways. Firstly, the shape itself installed much easier into the panel and held tighter in the fiberglass. Ben Clark of Clark Specialty Services, attributed this to having more “threads” than the hanger provided by the panel manufacturer. Secondly, the Angel Helix stood out for its easy of height adjustment and leveling. Typically this can be an area where the job slows way down and will cost the installer time, but the ease of adjustment allowed them to work more efficiently and more accurately. The third reason Angel Helix hangers were chosen was the versatile array of options provided for attaching the clouds to the ceiling. They opted for the Snap Hook end fitting that attached to Beam/Purlin Clips, making installation easy and to allow for easy removal when maintenance is needed for overhead mechanical equipment. Having options for most applications made Gripple a clear choice.

“This was the first time using this product from Gripple, but having used other Gripple
products in the past we knew we were getting a premium product that would be both
functional and durable. We will definitely use the Angel Helix hanger on future acoustic
cloud installations, and have even recommended them to the panel manufacturer for
consideration as a replacement for their current hangers.”
