The Hausman Road project in San Antonio, Texas is a large city project that will reconstruct the roadway to four lanes from Loop 1604 to I-10. There will be two lanes of traffic in each direction. The project includes turn lanes at intersections, grassy medians in some areas, sidewalks on the north side of the roadway, new driveway approaches and drainage improvements. The project will also construct a 10’ concrete hike and bike trail on the south side of the roadway which will connect to the Leon Creek Greenway hike and bike trails.

490 Gripple Root Ball Kits are being used to install small landscaping trees in certain areas of the Hausman Road project. The Gripple Root Ball Kit has no visual footprint and is one of the safest tree bracing methods, eliminating trip hazards for pedestrians. This is very important due to large amounts of pedestrian traffic due to the newly constructed hike and bike trail. Gripple Root Ball Kits were not only used because of its safety features but also because it is a quick and easy anchoring solution for root ball applications. The install team, AAA Landscape installed all 490 Gripple Root Ball Kits starting in the month of August 2016 and finishing in November 2016.

Gripple Root Ball Kits allowed us to move efficiently through a demanding schedule while meeting safety requirements for pedestrian‑heavy areas. The speed of installation and clean finish helped keep the project on track from start to finish.
