People Manager

Location: Sheffield, United Kingdom

At Gripple Ltd, an employee-owned and B Corp™ certified company and MX Awards Manufacturer of the Year 2022, we design, manufacture, and sell innovative, patented products for the construction, agriculture, solar and infrastructure markets.

This is a very exciting time for the company’s People & Culture team as we embark on our five-year plan to make Gripple an even better place to work! Due to the internal promotion of the existing postholder to Learning & Development Adviser, we are looking for an efficient, proactive, and passionate Learning & Development Coordinator to join the team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and administrating the delivery of Gripple learning and development activities. If you’re highly organised, a whizz on the computer with a keen interest in people development, we’d love to hear from you. We are looking for a true ‘people-person’, an exemplar of the Gripple Spirit and ambassador for employee-ownership.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, multi-disciplined team responsible for HR, training, recruitment and L&D in line with a progressive and ambitious plan.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Learning & Development, you will be based at our Sheffield head office, The Old West Gun Works, with the occasional requirement to support and work from all our sites in Sheffield and Rotherham.

The role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Liaising with internal and external training providers alongside the L&D team to coordinate and schedule an annual calendar of training and development events in line with business priorities
  • Providing administrative support to business-critical programmes such as the leadership development programme, operator training programme and the online learning platform, GeniUS
  • Providing regular reporting on L&D KPIs, updating records and producing detailed analysis as required
  • Managing and analysing training data and feedback
  • Supporting with the delivery of training where required
  • Maintaining employee and apprentice learning records and agreements
  • Upholding administrative records such as the Gripple learning management system
  • Maintaining and organising files within the learning and development server
  • Developing strong and effective relationships with training partners and other key stakeholders
  • Providing administrative support to the wider People & Culture team as and when required
  • Liaising and coordinating training support with our overseas People & Culture teams
  • Reviewing and improving processes

Working hours

Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.00pm. What you’ll need

The successful applicant must have the ability to efficiently coordinate and organise a range of training and development programmes in a fast-paced environment. Resourcefulness, curiosity and the ability to ‘make things happen’ is vital; previous experience as an in-house learning and development coordinator in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

You must also be able to offer the following:

  • High levels of organisation
  • Hands-on experience in arranging and administrating training programmes
  • Strong IT literacy, database and Microsoft Office software package skills essential
  • Knowledge of systems including PACS and SharePoint would be advantageous
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to work in a fluid and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exemplary focus and attention to detail
  • A vested interest in developing people and delivering learning in an employee-owned business
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to act as an ambassador for the business while advocating the Gripple Spirit
  • Knowledge of awarding bodies and training providers
  • Experience in translating existing learning materials for use on online learning platforms would be advantageous but not critical for the right applicant
