Ikea has opened an atypical store for the brand, located in a mall in Ghatkopar the 1,000 sqft space will focus on their smaller to mid-range items like home accessories and sofas. The city mall store format allows IKEA to be adapted to smaller spaces in an urban context similar to the homes it will be used in.

With this being an active site in a city, getting the project complete on time was the biggest concern and alternate solutions to strut and rod needed to be considered due to the massive amounts of time they consume.

A Gripple solution was decided upon as it would allow the team to complete the job is twice as quick due to the adjustable wire rope lengths provided. Adjustments could be made as the project progressed and the excess could be cut off at the project end allowing for alterations and reducing waste which helped bring down overall material and labour costs of the project.
